HealthSmart Benefit Solutions understands that employers are looking for help controlling skyrocketing employee healthcare costs.

We also know that certain universal trends are impacting the cost and delivery of health care throughout the country:

Chronic illness (obesity)
Increasing medical technology costs
Increasing cost and use of prescription drug therapy

These are trends that offer little hope that the large rate increases of recent years will soon retreat.


For some employers, shifting a portion of the costs to employees has provided a bit of temporary relief from rising costs. For others, who may be locked into providing certain benefit levels by  collective bargaining agreements, this strategy has not been an option.
